Do you have questions about mold and mold remediation? Call us at 308-237-0101. Heartland Cleaning Services offers mold inspections and estimates. During the inspection we will test to find out if your home still has wet areas and try to find the source of the water intrusion. If you do have mold in your home you have water intrusion some where, the key is to find the source of the water and stop it. Infrared cameras, meters and probes are used to detect moisture in walls, ceilings and floors. Once the source of the water intrusion has been addressed a remediation scope is determined, this is also when it is determined if the mold damage is large enough that an Certified Indoor Environmentalist (IE) is recommended to do the remediation scope and final clearance testing. Once the mold remediation scope is decided upon then a remediation estimate is generated. Heartland Cleaning Services always does a pre-inspection and mold remediation estimates BEFORE any remediation is completed. How is Mold Remediated? How mold is remediated depends on the amount of mold present. The first procedure to be completed is containment. Containment contains the mold to that section or room of your home that already has the contamination. This allows us to remediate the mold without cross contaminating the mold to other rooms and section of your home. All the remediation is done by trained personal with full face respirators with HEPA filters, full bodied Tyvek suits, and disposable gloves. HEPA air scrubbers are used to remove mold spores from the air and negative air machines are used to prevent cross contamination to unaffected areas of your home. Moldy drywall and porous materials are removed, bagged and hauled to the landfill. Studs, joists and sill plates are either sanded or soda blasted depending on the severity of the mold damage. Sanding and soda blasting removes the mold roots that grow into the structure wood of your home. Everything is HEPA vacuumed several times then hand wiped with an antimicrobial. If a Certified Indoor Environmentalist (IE) is used the IE would come in and do post remediation testing to ensure the mold contamination is down to expectable standards. Heartland Cleaning Service trained technicians remediate all mold damages by the IICRC S520 Mold Remediation standards so you as one of our customers can be assured a safe and proper mold remediation process is being performed. Heartland Cleaning Invests to Give You The Best Service Possible! Heartland Cleaning Services has invested over a quarter million dollars in remediation and cleaning equipment. We do this so we can offer the best possible service available! You can rest assured that our equipment we use is safe and will do the job it is suppose to do. Our HEPA air scrubbers and HEPA vacuums are among some of the best available units on the market today. We use low grain refrigerant (LGR) dehumidifiers to dry your home. We don’t use standard dehumidifiers that any home owner can purchase. LGR dehumidifiers create a “desert like dry air” that allows us to dry carpet, pad sub floors and walls faster and more thorough than any residential bought dehumidifier. We also use an infrared camera to detect hidden moisture in your walls, ceilings and floors. We use the best possible meters and probes to determine what materials are wet and how these materials are drying during the drying process. Does Heartland Cleaning Offer Mold Testing? Heartland Cleaning Services can do mold testing as to determine the mold species in your home. However it is unethical and against IICRC S520 standards for the mold remediation company to handle it’s own post remediation clearance mold testing. In accordance to the IICRC S520 standards “Remediators should NOT act as an Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) on projects in which they provide remediation services. To avoid conflicts of interest, it is highly recommended that any sampling, testing and subsequent assessment be performed by and independent IEP.” What is the IICRC? The IICRC is a national certification organization. The IICRC offers certification for the cleaning and restoration industry. The IICRC stands for the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification. The IICRC have published standards for mold remediation, IICRC S520, water damage restoration, IICRC S500, along with standards for carpet cleaning, IICRC S100 and upholstery cleaning, IICRC S300. To get an IICRC certification, a person has to attend a 2 to 5 day class, depending on the certification., and pass the certification test with a score of 75% or greater. Heartland Cleaning Services has IICRC certified mold remediators on staff as well as IICRC certified Master Water Damage Restorer, Master Smoke and Fire Restorer and Master Textile Cleaner.
